Cellmid holds the largest single portfolio of intellectual property involving midkine and midkine antagonists globally and owns 26 of the 51 patents that exist.

Midkine, a heparin binding growth factor, is one of the few novel therapeutic and diagnostic targets with validated roles in the pathogenesis of inflammation, cancer growth and spread.

The Company’s most advanced clinical development program targets the treatment of acute myocardial infarct (AMI or heart attack) utilising the midkine protein and its anti-apoptotic characteristics.

Preclinical programs include anti-midkine antibody therapy for the treatment of psoriasis, rheumatoid arthritis and multiple sclerosis. 

Cellmid is actively seeking partners to further develop its antagonist programs including its anti-midkine antibodies and oligonucleotides.
