Cellmid is actively looking for partners to carry out further clinical validation of its midkine immunoassay for the early detection of cancer.
Midkine is highly expressed during the early stages in a number of cancers. Data suggest that midkine could be used in the early diagnosis of lung and breast cancer, oral/esophageal squamous cell carcinoma, prostate, liver, colorectal and pancreatic cancers and in neuroblastoma. Midkine may also be of clinical use in the prognosis in a number of cancer types.
The Company has strong patent protection around early detection of cancer and a proprietary immunoassay to detect midkine in blood, urine and in the synovial fluid.
