CAB101 Antibody for Inflammatory Diseases

Inappropriate inflammatory immune response is the underlying precursor to many serious diseases, including autoimmunity, organ damage and cancer. Cellmid’s scientists have demonstrated the MK is a potent pro-inflammatory cytokine, and that MK induces inflammation via several different mechanisms. To tackle inflammatory diseases Cellmid is developing a human antibody in conjunction with Antitope Ltd (Cambridge, UK) utilising Antitope’s Composite Human Antibody^tm technology. This anti-MK antibody will work by sequestering free MK in the body, thus preventing it from causing unwanted inflammation. Potential indications for this antibody include diabetes, lung disease, lupus, multiple sclerosis and kidney disease.
